Job summary

Lake Washington School District seeks a paraeducator to assist teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students with physical or behavioral needs, and to support students with special health care requirements. The role includes helping with daily living and behavioral skill development and assisting with classroom setup and materials.

Occasional supervision in library, classrooms, resource rooms, playgrounds, or during bus loading/unloading may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen years of age.
• Hold a HS diploma or equivalent; AA or higher preferred.
• Two years of college credit or equivalent required.
• ParaPro or Pearson Paraprofessional test scores accepted.
• Background check will be conducted upon hire.

Location: Redmond Elementary (located within the Redmond Learning Community)

Hourly Rate: $30.79/hour position (SC7ParaEd26-27.pdf) Position is eligible for membership in the Teamsters Local Union No. 763 which is part of the Lake Washington School District Trades Bargaining Council No. 763 (TBC).

Job Summary

Assists teachers with individualized and small group instruction for students of all educational levels who have physical or behavioral needs or are medically fragile. Supports students' special health care needs and develops daily living and behavioral skills. Assists staff with classroom preparation and retrieval, use and storage of equipment and supplies. May supervise and assist students in library, classrooms, resource rooms, self-contained classroom, playgrounds, or getting on and off a bus.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Hold an Associate degree (AA) or higher OR
• Completed two years of study equivalent to 72 college quarter credit hours, OR
• Passed an Educational Testing Service ParaPro Assessment documenting a score of 455 or higher OR have passed the Pearson Paraprofessional Assessment with a score of 220 or higher.
• Official documentation will be required upon hire.
• Must pass criminal background check
