The ChristianaCare Mail Order Pharmacy Department is currently recruiting for a part-time Pharmacy Technician to work the day shift. The successful candidate will work 20 hours a week; a four (4) hour day during the week and then eight (8) hour days on both Saturday and Sunday. Applicants must have flexible scheduling and be able to work at all three Retail Outpatient Pharmacy Department sites. Applicants will be required to work holidays as required.

Locations: The Wilmington Hospital Outpatient Retail Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5pm. The Christiana Outpatient Retail Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8am-8pm and 9am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The Mail Order Pharmacy operates Monday through Friday 8:30 am-5pm.

Responsibilities:

1. Fill patient prescriptions to include data entry, insurance billing, and appropriate labeling and packaging, for pharmacist verification.
2. Assist the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient, cost-effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to the patient.
3. Make medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
4. Ensure any extra medication is returned to stock.
5. Reorder medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
6. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
7. Answer telephone and greet personnel coming into the pharmacy in a courteous and friendly manner.
8. Provide necessary information regarding patient drug orders.
9. Refer problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist as required.
10. Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Previous outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
3. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required.
4. Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required unless enrolled in a Pharm D Program.
5. Applicants enrolled or a graduate of either a 2-Year Associates Program or 4-Year Bachelor Program in Health Sciences Majors are encouraged to apply and will be required to achieve PTCB Certification in 1-Year of Employment.
