Position Overview

General Facility Attendants work in various areas of the facility, providing excellent customer service to members and patrons. Responsibilities include assisting with basic facility upkeep, event setup, and general operational tasks within the Community Center on Papillion Landing’s campus.

Position Details

• Title: Facility Attendant
• Reports To: Assigned Facility Manager / Recreation Coordinator
• Supervises: None
• Purpose: Responsible for daily maintenance and upkeep of the Recreation Facility, supervising recreational programs, managing event operations, and ensuring quality service delivery. Must work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions

1. Maintain cleanliness and safety of facilities through inspections and custodial duties.
2. Set up, clean, and maintain areas for events, including equipment and furniture arrangement.
3. Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and sanitation policies and report issues.
4. Create a safe environment for children and report any incidents of child abuse/neglect.
5. Enforce rules and regulations to ensure safety and enjoyment; refer non-compliant individuals to supervisors.
6. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
7. Maintain positive public relations and handle citizen complaints appropriately.
8. Operate point-of-sale systems for memberships and programming, handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
9. Operate and maintain equipment and utensils, report issues as needed.
10. Participate in citywide events as required.
11. Maintain dependable attendance, including during emergencies or adverse weather conditions.

Additional Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old at hire.
• Ability to obtain CPR/AED/First Aid certification within a specified timeframe and maintain it.
• Effective communication skills, customer service orientation, and ability to work independently.
• Friendly, outgoing personality, capable of positive public representation.

Physical & Working Conditions

Work is performed indoors and outdoors, exposed to weather conditions. Physical activities include walking, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other manual tasks. Work may be stressful, requiring interaction with the public and enforcement of rules.
