Job summary

Twin Rivers Paper Company LLC, headquartered in Madawaska, Maine, is seeking a PD Technologist to support product development at the Madawaska Mill. The role involves screening new chemistries, conducting paper analysis reports, and serving as a resource to the product development engineer.

The ideal candidate has a college degree in a related field and at least five years of pulp and paper experience, with strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• College degree in related field is required or equivalent trade experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Pulp and Paper.
• Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports safe work practices and participates in safety meetings and audits.
• Network to identify potential new product opportunities and chemistries.
• Support improvements in existing grades and assist PD Engineers in developing new products.
• Conduct paper analysis reports on competitive samples.
• Assist operations in scaling up new paper grades and run trials at mill and customer sites.
• Support PD engineers, sales, marketing and technical services in introducing and maintaining products.
• Assist with quality testing based on field complaints of current grades.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Weekend coverage on a rotation basis.
• Report problems with the food safety management system to designated personnel.
• Be aware of the Food Safety Policy, GMPs, HACCP principles and Food Safety Standard.
