Job summary

New-Indy Containerboard is seeking a Production Utility Operator in Ontario, CA. The role focuses on ensuring finished product exits the machine floor correctly labeled and sized, while assisting others during upset conditions to keep operations safe and efficient.

The job requires a High School Diploma or GED and involves operating a roll bander, cutting cores, and supplying the winder with correctly specified cores. A rotating, 12-hour schedule with nights and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to navigate reporting software platforms.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Able to be part of a multi-functional production team.

Responsibilities

• Operate roll bander and labeling station.
• Cut cores to size for winder.
• Housekeeping of the area.
• Supply winder with cores of required specs.
• Load cores into winder in proper order.
• Assist on paper-machine during upset conditions.
• Support production area with needed materials.
• Perform machine wash-ups and clean-ups as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
