Job summary

Sonoco Products Company in City of Industry, CA, is seeking a Process Engineer - Paper Mill to lead process improvements and provide technical support for the paper production operation. The role emphasizes safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction, with collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams.

You will analyze production performance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and drive sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline required.
• Two+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with paper-machine operations and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for paper-mill processes and control strategies.
• Analyze production data and operating trends to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot paper-machine, process, quality, and utility issues and support start-up activities.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and similar methods.
• Develop and implement capital projects from scope through commissioning and start-up.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and external vendors.
