Sonoco Products Company in City of Industry, CA, seeks a Process Engineer - Paper Mill to drive safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction. You will analyze production performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead improvement projects with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and external vendors.

You will manage capital projects from development through start-up, apply Lean and Six Sigma approaches, and develop standard procedures to sustain gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Two or more years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with paper-machine operations and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvement and optimization for safety, quality, productivity, reliability, waste reduction.
• Provide technical support for paper-machine processes, equipment and trials.
• Lead continuous-improvement activities using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen and related methods.
• Identify opportunities to justify and implement capital projects from scoping through start-up.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations and suppliers to develop new products and processes.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and training materials.
• Ensure safety and environmental considerations are integrated into changes.
