Pratt Industries in New York operates a 24-hour manufacturing facility with 12-hour shifts rotating day to night (6:45 am–7:00 pm and 6:45 pm–7:00 am). Starting wage is $28.14 per hour, with on-the-job and compliance training to learn the mill and the Winder area.
Responsibilities include weighing, measuring, strapping, labeling rolls, and coordinating with a small team to run the unit. After training, a Winder assessment determines operator progression.
This is a 24 hour manufacturing facility and shifts for this position rotate from Day to Night 6:45 am – 7:00 pm and 6:45 pm – 7:00 am. Starting rate is $28.14 per hour. Through on the job training and compliance training, the trainee will learn the basic operation of the mill and a work area. As the trainee progresses he/she will be required to learn the various workstations of the paper machine starting at the Winder area which consists of 3 substations (Winder Operator, Assistant Winder Operator and Strapper).
Must have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
Candidates with prior machine operator work experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment are preferred.
Able to read, write and follow instructions in English Language.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
