Job summary

Pratt Paper, LLC, a division of Pratt Industries, is seeking qualified Paper Makers at the Conyers, GA mill. Pratt Industries is America’s 5th largest paper and packaging company with a strong environmental mission.

The role involves monitoring machines and processes, performing housekeeping, minor repairs, and cross-training across multiple plant roles to support sustainable manufacturing and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• College degree preferred.
• Military background is a plus.
• Paper mill experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor machines, equipment, and processes.
• Housekeeping duties including cleaning and debris removal.
• Perform small repairs on paper mill equipment.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Perform tests on raw materials or finished products.
• Conduct fast walking rounds of the work area.
• Install paper machine clothing.
• Train other employees and receive training in multiple plant roles.

Job description

Candidates must:

• Be able to solve problems independently
• Be able to multitask
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Interpret data from a computer system
• Be able to use hand tools
• Have a strong mechanical aptitude
• Be able to move quickly with their feet
• Be able to stay on their feet for 12 hours
• Be ultra-cognizant of their surroundings and potential hazards
• Be able to lift 50 + pounds
• Be able to climb stairs & ladders
• Be able to tolerate a hot (100 + degree) climate
• Be able to work 12 hour rotating shift roster (day and nights, including weekends and holidays)
• Be highly motivated

Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Monitor machines, equipment, and processes
• Housekeeping to include washing up, raking up paper, shoveling debris, etc
• Small repairs of paper mill equipment
• Identify areas for process improvement
• Perform test on either raw material or finished product
• Perform fast walking rounds of work area continuously
• Install paper machine clothing
• Train other employees as well as receive training in multiple jobs throughout the plant
