Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Manufacturing Helper in Pittsfield, MA to support paper machine operations and finishing/converting. You will transport and stage rolls, thread machines, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Under the guidance of the Machine Tender or Paper Machine Rewinder Operator, you will move rolls, assist with material prep for the Rewinder crew, and perform general housekeeping to keep production flowing.

Qualifications

• Trade school or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced production environment.
• Willingness to learn and follow operating procedures and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct self and job tasks in a safe manner following proper work procedures
• Perform and document PT/FT inspections
• Monitor and stock operating supplies as needed or directed; cores, pallets, wrap, etc.
• Move rolls from the Machine, Calender, and Rewinder areas
• Collect scrap and waste from the process to bale
• Assist the Rewinder crew in preparing production materials
• General housekeeping. Keep the work area and machinery clean, neat, organized, and free of any safety hazards
• Performs other duties as reasonably assigned, in alignment with the role’s scope and organizational goals.
