Job summary

The Wirer I at Columbus McKinnon wires control panels to meet customer specifications, ensuring correct parts, wires, and connectors per schematics. This 2nd shift runs Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM, with emphasis on quality checks, accurate labeling, and thorough documentation in a safety-conscious environment.

Candidates should read blueprints, use hand tools, and operate measuring devices, with ability to entry data when needed and lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Ability to read product specs, blueprints and schematics.
• Accurate documentation and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Review work order for correct parts and drawings.
• Follow schematics and layouts to wire panels to meet customer specs.
• Ensure the use of correct wires.
• Perform crimping and lugging and place Ty-bases per standards.
• Wire standard and engineered panels.
• Perform quality inspections per the Quality Checklist.
• Apply required labels and complete paperwork.
• Follow safety rules and maintain housekeeping standards.
