Job summary

Mission Controls & Automation, a SunSource company, seeks an Electrical Assembler to install wiring and assemble control cabinets and industrial equipment according to blueprints. Must read wiring diagrams and perform tasks with high accuracy in a production environment.

The role requires safety-conscious work habits, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and forklift certification. This position may evolve into team lead duties over time, with opportunities in a dynamic, industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble enclosures, back plates or components per drawings.
  • Lay out diagrams for electrical installations per wiring specs.
  • Drill, tap, and mount control units as specified.
  • Wire assemblies per wiring diagrams and specs.
  • Attach breakers, relays, and bus bars to mounting holes.
  • Prepare wire and conduit connections for circuits and subassemblies.
  • Solder and crimp connections; adjust electrical assemblies.
  • Coordinate with supervisor/engineer to resolve diagram or production issues.
  • May act as Team Lead, assigning tasks and approving timecards.

Job Summary

Installs electrical wiring and assembles components in control cabinets, electrical and industrial equipment, and related industrial apparatus, according to blueprints and wiring diagrams by performing the following duties.

Physical Demands
  • Sit at desk for extended periods of time
  • Use arms, hands, and fingers to handle, feel, and reach for items
  • Listen to and talk with fellow staff and internal and external customers
  • Frequently required to crouch, crawl, stoop, or kneel
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Squares, aligns, and assembles enclosures, back plates or components
  • Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications
  • Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units
  • Wires assembly for electrical installations according to wiring specifications
  • Attaches breakers, relays, contacts, bus bars, transformers, insulators, meters, plugging devices, and fuse blocks to mounting holes with bolts and screws
  • Cuts, strips, bends, and forms wire, wire cable, conduit, pipe, and tubing used to connect circuits and subassemblies
  • Solders connections and crimps connectors to wire endsAdjusts electrical assemblies
  • Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problems
  • May act as a Team Lead disseminating jobs, approving timecards, etc
