This position receives parts from the warehouse and instruction from the engineering group but is otherwise responsible for successfully taking assembly projects from start to finish on schedule.

Essential Job Functions
  • Receive production job parts and materials via job tote: check each item against the pick list for accuracy and for damaged goods.
  • Maintain responsibility and organization of production job components while on the floor.
  • Layout electrical panels independently, with final approval from electrical engineering.
  • Assemble and wire electrical panels utilizing best practices and industry standards.
  • Assemble mechanical systems including aluminum extrusion frames and guards and multi-discipline electro-mechanical assemblies such as automation work cells. Assembly should be completed based on prints and drawings, while utilizing best practices and creativity for a professional finished product.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and re-work electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct field service including electrical and mechanical assembly or retrofits.
  • Maintain and continually improve organization of the shop floor and the processes related to the above activities.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Technicians may be asked to complete "odd jobs" to support the sales team, shipping, or operations of the building which may include using creativity to help build a sales demo, cutting aluminum extrusion, operating the fork truck, building maintenance, and crate/skid building.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience with shop equipment safety and operation including but not limited to electrical assembly tools, carpentry tools, machine shop tools, and fork truck.
  • Understanding of basic and complex electrical principles including the ability to read an electrical schematic.
  • Ability to utilize common test tools such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes for testing and debugging
  • High school diploma or GED required.
