However, no accommodation will be made which may pose serious health or safety risks to the employee or others or which imposes undue hardship on Eastern Shipbuilding.**POSITION SUMMARY**Work closely with the Material Processing Superintendent/ Foreman to provide support in the overall supervision of the Panel Line building.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:** Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.* Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.* Comply with company, Federal, State, and local safety, ethics, and environmental rules, regulations, and policies while performing duties.* Assist Superintendent/ Foreman in resolving issues about day-to-day operations of the panel line equipment.* Assist Superintendent/ Foreman in meeting production schedule, maintaining resources and training needs within the Department.* Provide technical assistance and oversee the workforce in the Panel Line building.* Inspect finished products from Panel Line equipment to ensure they meet the specifications and standards set by the Company.* Monitor employees’ work performances and productivity.* Perform additional assignments as directed by the Superintendent/ Foreman.* Plan ahead to ensure their crew is working safely.* Perform other duties as assigned.**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**Directly and/ or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the Plasma Cutting building located in Material Processing Department. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.**REQUIREMENTS****Education/ Experience/ Knowledge:** High school diploma or GED equivalence plus three to five years’ previous shipyard experience. Must be able to manage a crew of individuals to get the job done efficiently, effectively, and safely. Three to five years’ supervisory experience desired. Knowledge of CNC-based operating equipment. Requires knowledge of ship terminology, safety, and OSHA regulations.**Skills:** Requires basic to intermediate level computer skills. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, supervisors, and employees. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Knowledge of the safe operation and use of hand and power tools.
