Palmer High School is seeking a building substitute to cover classes when teachers are absent and to support daily learning. Substitutes work on site at Palmer High School and may fill multiple classroom roles as needed.

This is a temporary position with emphasis on reliable presence and continuity of instruction for students while teachers are unavailable. A Bachelor's Degree or Alaska Teaching Certificate is preferred but not required.

Palmer High School is looking for a building substitute!

We believe our building subs are one of the most important staff members!. Building subs have the extraordinary ability to contribute to every classroom in our school. Through that they provide a consistent and familiar presence for students in order to help them continue moving forward in their learning when teachers must be absent.

Building substitutes are substitutes that sub daily at one school. If there are no positions to fill, the Building Sub will be an extra hands on deck at the school for the day. If a Building Sub does not have a job scheduled 7 days in advance, they will automatically populate into the open Classroom Teacher and Classroom support position. Building Subs do not sub for Food Services or Custodial Services.

Building Substitute Requirements
