Position Overview

We are seeking a Palliative/Hospice physician to join a diverse interdisciplinary team (IDT) that includes chaplaincy, social work, RN, and pharmacy support. The role offers teaching opportunities for HPM fellows, resident physicians, and students across medical, nursing, and social work disciplines. The practice can be tailored to your clinical interests, including inpatient palliative consulting, outpatient clinics, a 16-bed inpatient hospice unit, and home-based hospice visits. Shared call responsibilities promote a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive palliative and hospice care to patients and families, managing physical and emotional symptoms.
  • Conduct intensive family meetings and coordinate care across healthcare settings.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain a positive professional presence with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Support organizational financial and operational goals.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with successful completion of a residency and fellowship in Palliative/Hospice care.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a medical license in Kentucky.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association, with no lapse longer than one year (or certification within six years of training completion).
