Job summary

Benefis Health System in Great Falls, Montana, seeks a compassionate Palliative Care Physician to join our interdisciplinary team. Provide inpatient and outpatient palliative care, collaborating with oncology, cardiology, and primary care to improve quality of life for patients with serious illness.

The position offers a 4-day work week (10-hour shifts) with no weekends or on-call duties, and opportunities to develop outpatient services while participating in education of students and residents.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
• Completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or another qualifying specialty.
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Montana.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation services for hospitalized patients with complex chronic and serious illnesses.
• 4-day work week (10 hour shifts) with no weekends or call.
• Develop and expand outpatient palliative care services.
• Collaborate with oncology, cardiology, pulmonology, neurology, nephrology, critical care, hospital medicine and primary care providers.
• Focus on symptom management, goals-of-care discussions, advance care planning, and support for patients and families.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care coordination.
• Assist with education of medical students, residents, and healthcare professionals.

Education
