Job summary

University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative team and provide high-quality, patient-centered care for seriously ill patients.

You will perform expert palliative care consultations, partner with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to align plans with goals, support symptom management and advance care planning, and help expand access to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current ACNP/ANP/FNP certification and Maryland NP licensure (or eligibility to obtain).
• Experience in palliative care, hospice, or related specialty is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert palliative care consultations for patients with serious illnesses.
• Partner with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to align care plans with patient goals and values.
• Support symptom management, advance care planning, and shared decision-making.

We Are Seeking a Nurse Practitioner Who Is

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
• Current Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification in the state of Maryland (or eligibility to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in palliative care, hospice, oncology, geriatrics, critical care, or another related specialty is highly valued
• Experience supporting patients and families through complex medical decisions and advance care planning is preferred
