Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha is seeking a skilled clinician to deliver primary health care within the Palliative Care program. This role requires compassionate patient care, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The position is 0.6 FTE (24 hours/week) with Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, rotating weekends and holidays, and rotating on-call from 4pm-8am. Location: 8303 Dodge Road, Omaha. The team emphasizes meaningful care and family-centered support.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary health care for patients by utilizing the processes of assessment and diagnosis of health status.
• Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines as appropriate and provide regular and consistent feedback.
• Use appropriate assessment techniques & diagnostic information; perform tests relevant to patient condition and record findings.
• Prescribe medications according to Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA.
• Generate referrals to appropriate services as needed to further diagnose and/or progress of care.
• Communicates effectively with patient and family understanding of diagnosis, prognosis care and treatment options.
