Job summary

Calvary Hospital in the Bronx is seeking a dedicated physician to provide primary palliative care for patients with advanced cancer. You will perform histories, exams, and daily rounds, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

The role requires NY State medical licensure, board certification, and a compassionate, collaborative approach consistent with Calvary’s mission and the care of terminally ill patients.

Qualifications

• New York State M.D. License is required.
• Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine or the American Board of Family Practice, or substantially equivalent training and expertise.
• Competent to care for patients suffering from advanced cancer.
• Exhibits caring attitude and dedication to Calvary Hospital’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care to patients admitted to Calvary Hospital.
• Perform and record history and physical examination on all admitted patients.
• Make daily rounds and document findings, plans, and treatment in the medical record.
• Share on-call coverage weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Prepare complete and legible medical records justifying diagnoses and treatments.
• Participate in departmental and hospital quality review, assessment, and performance improvement functions.
