Job summary

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times, as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety and Quality are followed and complied with uniformly in an effort to reduce product and process variability.

The purpose of the Robotic Palletizing Operator is to monitor the robotic palletizing machines, following all safety policies and procedures, as they collect and separate cases of egg patties and/or omelets according to product SKU and line. This person must ensure cases are not mixed on skids, as well as prepare boxes for pre-cooked products, ensuring the correct boxes are prepared and ejected properly so production flow is maintained at the highest level. The Distribution Department, customers, and consumers benefit from the work of the Palletizing Operator, ensuring orders are sorted properly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Adhere to safety policies such as LOTO, PPE, PIT, and Housekeeping.
  • Operate the robotic palletizing machines, ensuring cases are properly stacked according to product SKU and line.
  • Ensure all full pallets are indexed and wrapped with plastic.
  • Enter data into the SAP system.
  • Maintain frequent communication with leads and/or supervisor.
  • Keep empty pallets, slip sheets, and other necessary supplies on hand for the job.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on the equipment as needed.
  • Determine if product meets proper specifications and take corrective action as needed.
  • Stack cases of product manually as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general good housekeeping of the palletizing area, keeping all debris and dirt swept up.
  • Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Level 3 certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes positive relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) training.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
  • Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs. when handling CHEP pallets for hand‑stacking finished outgoing product. Whenever possible, two (2) people should lift or move the pallet. Never lift more than your own capability.
  • Ability to continuously lift up to 30 lbs. when hand‑stacking cases of finished product.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong mechanical background.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work indoors in a continuously cold environment.
  • Ability to climb and travel stairs.
  • Wear designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the job.
  • Adhere to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures established for Robotic Palletizing Equipment.
  • Obtain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Operator Certification.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Ability to operate specific equipment and tools.
  • Skill in working with computers and experience with spreadsheet and word‑processing software.
