Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, a Massillon, OH-based manufacturer of salty snacks, is seeking a Robotic Palletizing Operator for night shifts (7 PM–7 AM). The role involves monitoring robotic palletizing systems, ensuring proper SKU-based stacking, and wrapping pallets with Lantech wrappers. Shift differential brings earnings to $24.01/hr at top end.

The position requires safety compliance, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and basic computer/HDMI interface skills; experience with GMP and food safety is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Food-related backgrounds are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to all safety policies such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE and Housekeeping; authorized and adheres to all LOTO policies and procedures as established for robotic palletizing equipment.
  • Ensures all cases are properly stacked according to product SKU and line; cases are not mixed on skids.
  • Ensure all full pallets are wrapped in plastic by Lantech Wrapper and tagged/indexed.
  • Keeps empty pallets and other necessary supplies on hand for the job.
  • Responsible for operating, adjusting, maintaining or otherwise interfering with palletizing system.
  • Communicates effectively and in real-time with Maintenance, Warehouse and Production.
  • Basic/intermediate HDMI screen usage for robot programming, fault correction and robot performance.
  • Capable of reading and comprehending daily production schedules.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting; inform maintenance of equipment malfunctions.
  • Loads pallets with empty pallets; inspects pallets prior to loading.
  • Stacks cases and/or hand packs manually.
  • Adheres to safe work practices; follows GMP and PPE guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; maintains attendance.

ROBOT OPERATOR

BLUE NIGHTS 7PM TO 7AM

HOURLY RATE $21.01 + $3 SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL

PositionSummary:

Monitors, manages and maintains Robotic Palletizing System during continuous production;must follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and company rules and regulations;monitors therobotic palletizing machines as they collect and separate cases of product according to SKU and line; monitors the wrapping of full skids by the Lantech Wrapper

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all safety policies such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE and Housekeeping; is authorized and adheres to all LOTO policies and procedures as established for roboticpallet zingequipment;
  • Ensuring all cases are properly stackedaccordingto product SKU and line; ensures that cases are not mixed on skids
  • Ensure all full pallets are wrapped in plastic by Lantech Wrapper and tagged/indexed
  • Keeps empty pallets and other necessary supplies on hand for the job
  • Responsible for operating, adjusting,maintaining or otherwise interfering with palletizing system;
  • Manages and maintainsRobotic Palletizing System area;maintains cleanliness and general good housekeeping of thepalletizingarea, keeping all debris and dirt swept up;performspreventative maintenance on equipment as needed (example: Clean, Inspect, Lube (CIL)
  • Communicateeffectively and in real-time with both Maintenance, Warehouse and Production;
  • Basic/intermediate HDMI screen usage for both robot programming, fault correction and robotperformance;
  • Capable of correcting reading and comprehending daily production schedule(s);
  • Responsiblefor troubleshooting;communicate(as needed)withmaintenancefor additional resource support; informs Supervisor andMaintenanceof equipment malfunctions;
  • Supplies loading equipment with empty pallets;performspallet inspection to ensure appropriatepallets arebeing usedprior to loading;
  • Stackscasesand/or hand packsmanually as needed;
  • Expected toadhereto safe work practices, follow GMP and PPE guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained and report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnelsafety’
  • Performsother duties assigned by front line leader and/or supervisor
  • Follows all policies,proceduresand standard work; supportsorganizations’goals and values;
  • Attendance/Punctuality; consistentlyat work and on time for scheduled shift

Preferred Education,Experienceand Skills:

-Successfully operatesprocessing and/or packaging equipment with zerosafety,quality orfoodsafety incidents;

-Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly;

- Ability toliftto 50lbs.when handling pallets; ability toliftto 15lbs continuously whenhand stackingcases of finished product;

- Ability to work independently;

- Basic reading, writing and verbal skills;

- Basic computer skills and basic use of HDMI interface. This may include, but is not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook,Snack point,Infinityand MIP;

-Strong mechanical background

-Strong attention to detail;ability to multi-task and prioritize;

- Ability to work indoors in a continuously warm environment;

-Wear designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job;
