Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Pallet Wrapper / Stretch Wrap Operator in Aurora, IL to prepare finished products for shipment by safely operating the automated stretch wrapping machine. You will ensure pallets are properly secured, labeled, and staged for loading while upholding quality and a clean, safe work environment.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to stand for long shifts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Warehouse or shipping experience preferred but not required.
  • Forklift (Sit-Down) certification/experience required.
  • Experience operating stretch wrap equipment is a plus.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic warehouse safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the stretch wrapping machine to securely wrap pallets.
  • Inspect pallets for stability and damage.
  • Apply corner boards, top sheets, edge protectors.
  • Affix shipping labels and documentation to pallets.
  • Monitor film tension and package integrity.
  • Stage wrapped pallets in shipping areas with pallet jacks.
  • Replace stretch wrap film and perform minor machine adjustments.
  • Report malfunctions and safety concerns to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Maintain clean, safe wrapping area.
  • Assist with other shipping and warehouse duties.

Description

The Pallet Wrapper / Stretch Wrap Operator is responsible for preparing finished products for shipment by safely and efficiently operating the automated stretch wrapping machine. This position ensures all pallets are properly secured, labeled, and staged for loading while maintaining quality standards and a clean, safe work environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to remain on their feet throughout the shift.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or shipping experience preferred but not required.
  • Forklift Experience (Sit-Down) Required, additional trucks, a plus
  • Experience operating stretch wrap equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic understanding of warehouse safety practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate the automated stretch wrapping machine to securely wrap pallets for shipment.
  • Inspect pallets before wrapping to verify they are stable, properly stacked, and free from damage.
  • Apply corner boards, top sheets, edge protectors, or other packaging materials as required.
  • Affix shipping labels, identification tags, and documentation to completed pallets.
  • Monitor the wrapping process to ensure proper film tension, coverage, and package integrity.
  • Stage wrapped pallets in designated shipping areas using pallet jacks or other approved equipment.
  • Replace stretch wrap film and perform minor machine adjustments as needed.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, damaged products, or safety concerns to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • Maintain production and shipping pace while meeting quality standards.
  • Keep the wrapping area clean, organized, and free of trip hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and housekeeping requirements.
  • Check order to make sure the correct items were picked.
  • Make sure the carton count, dimensions and weights are recorded.
  • Assist with other shipping and warehouse duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Must be able to work overtime, including weekends
  • Must be physically capable of standing/bending /stooping/griping 8+ hour shift(s)
  • Must be able to lift/carry/move up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Anything above than 30 lbs. require a team lift.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate, non-dust-controlled areas
  • Must be able to wear required safety equipment including shoes, glasses, harnesses, etc.
