Job summary

Surlean Foods is hiring for a palletizing operator. You will supervise palletizers or robots to stack product, ensure proper wrapping, and move pallets to storage. Maintain equipment, observe safety rules, and report any issues promptly.

Responsibilities include manual handling of non-automated product, keeping the area tidy, counting finished goods, and following supervisor directions. A high school diploma is preferred and pallet jack certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school degree preferred.
• Certification in operating Pallet Jack is an advantage.
• Excellent teamwork and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to read labels and numbers accurately.
• Able to work in a high-speed, fast-paced environment.
• Capable of basic arithmetic and following instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate palletizers and/or robot to stack product.
• Maintain equipment and electrical components.
• Manually handle product not processed automatically and stack from conveyors.
• Shrink wrap pallets and move to finished goods area.
• Move pallets to storage using pallet jack and forklift.
• Keep work area clean and count finished product.
• Follow safety rules and report safety or equipment issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Job description

Responsible for the multiple operations of the Palletizers and/or Robot for the purpose of stacking product. Operators maintain the equipment, machines and electrical components.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Product not processed through automatic palletizing will be manually removed and stacked from the conveyors, Pallets will then be shrunk wrapped before being moved to the finished goods area.

Keep work area clean

Keep count of finished product

Move pallets of stacked product to storage area using pallet jack and forklift.

Observe and practice all rules of safety

Perform all lawful and safety instructions given by supervision

Ensure that all food regulations, quality and safety requirements are followed.

Report any misuse of equipment, product or work rule violations that could result in damage to equipment, product or employee safety to your supervisor/manager

Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

Working Conditions:

Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.

Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in processing departments. Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick. Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 lbs., and to stand for long periods of time.
