Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree related to geology, paleontology, anthropology, or biology.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of paleontological survey and construction monitoring experience.
  • Familiarity with BLM guidelines and prior permit roles encouraged.
  • Ability to identify diverse fossil resources in various deposits.
  • Experience using GPS and Esri GIS tools on field devices.
  • Valid driver's license and safe outdoor work capability.

Responsibilities

  • Survey areas for paleontological resources following plan protocols.
  • Identify and document fossils in sedimentary rocks and alluvium.
  • Coordinate in real time with project leads and archaeologists.
  • Maintain compliance with PRUP and state requirements.
  • Complete daily notes, logs, and photographic documentation.
  • Collect GPS data and assist with discovery documentation.
