Job summary

Kemin Industries is seeking an innovative scientist to lead the development of palatant technologies and ingredient solutions for the pet food industry. The role will design and interpret experiments that support product innovation, commercialization, and scale-up, while identifying new opportunities to expand Kemin’s capabilities.

The ideal candidate translates customer needs into differentiated technical solutions, works across Marketing, Sales, Operations, Regulatory, and Quality teams, and

Qualifications

• MS (≥3 years industry) or PhD in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Animal Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong background in Flavor Chemistry.
• Experience using JMP, XLSTAT, SIMCA and Minitab for ANOVA, regression and multivariate analyses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently and cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate next-generation palatant technologies and ingredient solutions.
• Design, execute, and interpret experiments for product innovation and commercialization.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Regulatory and Quality teams.
• Engage with suppliers and customers to translate market needs into technical solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and expand the innovation toolbox.
• Support scale-up, commercialization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate progress and findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to IP development, publications, and customer-facing presentations.
