Job summary

Novartis in Cambridge is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) for Data42 to rapidly prototype, iterate, and productionize data and AI solutions on Palantir Foundry, blending software, data engineering, and product-minded problem solving.

You will embed with domain teams, translate needs into shipped capabilities, design end-to-end data pipelines, ontology alignment, and user workflows, and ensure operational durability through repeatable analytics and governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of biomedical research or related domain experience.
• Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry and building/operationalizing solutions (pipelines, ontology, applications, access controls).
• Proven ability to translate stakeholder needs into shipped capabilities and to deliver proofs of concept.
• Experience delivering software/data products in fast-paced, user-facing environments with rapid prototyping to production.
• Strong programming skills and comfort across data and application layers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management with reliability and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Embed with domain teams to understand workflows, define success criteria, and lead delivery from prototype to production.
• Design and implement end-to-end Foundry solutions (data pipelines, transformations, ontologies, apps).
• Ingest, transform, and model diverse datasets; define data quality checks for analytics readiness.
• Build user-facing applications and integrate with upstream/downstream systems; support deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data engineers, and governance teams to align scope and standards.
• Create reusable patterns and contribute to documentation and playbooks.
