Job summary

Palantir Technologies is seeking an Enterprise Ontology Architect to design and govern the organization’s enterprise ontology within Palantir Foundry. You will steward ontology objects, metadata, permissions, and data structures to ensure secure, scalable reuse across applications and projects.

You will develop ontology models, define metadata standards, and manage lifecycle, promotions, and change control while collaborating with engineering, product, and governance teams.

Qualifications

• ACTIVE and MAINTAINED SECRET Federal or DoD security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field is required.
• A minimum SIX (6) years of relevant professional experience with at least THREE (3) years in enterprise data modeling, information architecture, metadata management, ontology management, or data governance.
• Experience designing and maintaining ontologies within Palantir Foundry.
• Understanding of enterprise metadata management and information architecture principles.
• Experience defining and governing enterprise data standards.
• Understanding of identity, permissions, group management, and access control concepts.
• Experience supporting shared enterprise platforms used by multiple application teams.
• Familiarity with API design and integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Ability to balance business requirements with long-term enterprise architecture and governance objectives.
• Strong collaboration skills with engineers, product owners, governance teams, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, govern, and evolve the enterprise information architecture within Palantir Foundry.
• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise ontology models using Palantir Ontology Manager.
• Define and govern enterprise metadata standards across applications, domains, and portfolios.
• Manage lifecycle of enterprise ontology objects: creation, promotion, versioning, deprecation, stewardship.
• Monitor ontology usage and improve reuse, reduce duplication, resolve conflicts.
• Partner with application teams to align ontology objects with enterprise standards.
• Design and maintain APIs and integration patterns for shared ontology objects and API gateway principals.
• Develop governance processes for ontology promotion, ownership, and change management.
• Support data access, permission, and group management with governance practices.
• Ensure ontology objects, metadata, and assets align with Enterprise Metadata Schema and Data Asset Inventory.
• Advise clients on enterprise information architecture, ontology design, metadata management, and governance.
• Develop trusted relationships with client stakeholders and support business development (proposals, white papers, demonstrations, capability briefings).
• Support business development efforts (RFPs/RFIs, white papers, pitch decks, capability briefings).
