Job summary

JTEC Consulting is seeking a mid-level Palantir Data Engineer to join an agile data team modernizing and operationalizing data workflows using Palantir Foundry. This role focuses on building production-ready data pipelines, integrating external systems, supporting mission-focused user experiences, and providing Tier 2 technical triage.

Based in Chantilly, VA, this 100% onsite role requires hands-on work with Palantir Workshop, Pipeline Builder, Python, and TypeScript to deliver scalable data

Qualifications

• Current TS/SCI with agency-specific polygraph.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of related professional software or data engineering experience.
• Strong communication in a collaborative, cross-functional team.
• Hands-on proficiency with Palantir Foundry, Pipeline Builder, and Workshop.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data manipulation and ETL design.
• Proficiency with TypeScript for front-end interfaces and custom functions.
• Experience connecting to external APIs and parsing complex payloads.
• Experience processing structured and unstructured data and data modeling.
• Ability to perform Tier 2 tech triage and communicate trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Palantir Pipeline Builder and advanced Python.
• Manage end-to-end movement and ingestion of structured and unstructured data into storage repositories.
• Create one-time extraction scripts and automated recurring ingestion pipelines from diverse data sources.
• Transform raw datasets into clean, governed data models for production analytics.
• Build integrations with external systems via RESTful APIs.
• Design, build, and configure mission-focused user interfaces within Palantir Workshop.
• Write, test, and deploy TypeScript to extend interfaces and user interactions.
• Develop custom tools, reusable code libraries, and micro-services to automate workflows.
• Act as Tier 2 escalation point to diagnose and remediate data issues.
• Convert customer feedback into detailed functional and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and stakeholders to define schemas and transformation rules.
• Perform operations and maintenance, tuning, and feature enhancements on pipelines and codebases.
• Participate in peer code reviews and solution design sessions.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including mappings and access protocols.
