Job summary

McGrath in Summerville, SC is seeking a full-time handyman to perform cleaning, prep and paint services on modular containers in our yard. You will work outdoors, in varying weather, with autonomy and initiative to ensure each asset leaving the site is properly prepared and inspected for quality.

The role requires 2-3 years in construction or maintenance, painting experience, reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years experience in a construction or maintenance environment.
• Prior painting experience including caulking and taping.
• Basic computer and phone skills required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety awareness.
• Good communication and the ability to work independently.
• High-energy, results-driven with integrity.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, prep and paint service on modular containers in the yard.
• Work outside in variable weather conditions.
• Operate independently with initiative when supervision is not available.
• Ensure each asset leaving is prepared and quality checked.
• Follow company safety guidelines and participate in safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $13.65 To $24.47 Hourly

“What You’ll Do”

• Perform cleaning, prep and paint service on modular containers in the yard.
• Work outside in variable weather conditions including high temperature summer months.
• Have the ability to work independently and have the drive to take the initiative if direct supervision is not available on a constant basis.
• Ensure each asset leaving is prepared and quality checked.
• Follow all company guidelines for working safely. Actively participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned

“Must Haves”

• 2-3 years experience in a construction or maintenance environment
• Prior experience with painting (including caulking, taping, etc)
• Basic computer & phone skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Strong communication skills
• Be able to work independently and in a safe and proper manner.
• High-energy, can-do, get-results person with high integrity.
• Valid Driver's License

"Nice to Haves"

• E xperience repairing containers, van trailers, or metal waste bins
• Painting experience
• Welding experience

Special Considerations:

• Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
• Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
