Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc in Wisconsin is seeking a Powder Coat Painter classed I-III for weekend shifts, Fri–Sun, 5 AM–5 PM. You will load parts, hang parts for coating, and inspect finishes to ensure quality while working in a high-heat environment.

Requires a high school diploma, 0–2 years for Painter I, and ability to pass pulmonary function tests. Experience with SAP or ERP systems is preferred.

Paint Hangers safely and efficiently load and unload raw parts from the paint line. The Paint Hangers are expected to move efficiently and safely with the end result being a ready to use part or assembly.Paint I - Major ResponsibilitiesLoading, transferring, and unloading of parts on and/or from paint lineProcess each part by hanging/racking to paint applicationInspect quality of parts before and after finishing processPerform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)Constantly work in a constantly high heat environmentInspect quality of parts before and after finishing processExchange and break down racks and prepare for burn-offMaintain proper countsReport all scrapPerform stock handling duties as requiredMaintain a clean work environmentPainter II - Major Responsibilities:Perform cleaning and other preliminary operations to prepare materials for coatingPerform painting operation in paint boothAssist with maintaining of paint equipmentPainter III - Major Responsibilities:Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)Perform painting process in painting system watching for appropriate paint coverage and quality coatings for parts.Flex across different products / areas to support business needs.Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.Painter I - Minimum Job RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent0-2 years of experienceDetail oriented and organizedPainter II - Minimum Job RequirementsPainter I requirementsAble to pass a pulmonary function test to ensure they are able to wear an air hood.Painter III - Minimum Job Requirements:2 years of experience in a powder coat painting environment and able to pass a pulmonary function test. (PPE requirement)Preferred Job Requirements:Demonstrated experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.)Demonstrated experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics)Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds.
