Position Summary

The Painter/Utility Worker is primarily responsible for supporting and assisting with the prepping and painting of compressors, including packaging and production.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, on-time painting of compressors, generators, and associated parts.
• Work with the production supervisor to prioritize work orders for timely delivery of painted components.
• Mask, prep, and clean all components before applying primer/paint.
• Maintain all paint logs according to RIX policies.
• Adhere to safety rules, regulations, and practices.
• Maintain the paint booth and equipment, completing weekly 5S cleanings and audits both inside and outside.
• Notify supervisors when supplies and tools are running low.
• Participate in cross-training programs as directed.
• Follow all company rules and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
• Obtain forklift certification to move and transport components.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Complete and maintain painter qualification courses.
• Technical school education or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license without restrictions.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Ability to perform calculations like percentages, ratios, and fractions.
• Basic computer skills and adaptability to software applications.
• Understanding of air and gas compressors, generators, and manufacturing tools.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• U.S. citizenship or qualified U.S. person status; ability to obtain DOD security clearance if required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced coursework in mechanical assembly.
• Experience in manufacturing air and gas compressors and generators.
• Experience in painting industrial equipment.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Exposure to manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments, with potential exposure to loud noise, fumes, and chemicals. Must follow safety procedures around moving equipment and mechanical parts.

Physical abilities include stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing or sitting for extended periods.
