Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a Painter Blaster to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting and to apply coatings to equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and related areas. Responsibilities include surface prep, mixing coatings, and working at heights with ladders or scaffolding under direction.

The role requires 3–5 years of Journeyman experience and compliance with safety procedures. Applicants must be able to read instructions, perform duties safely, and meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reads work order and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepares surface using methods to remove dirt, oil, grease, and old paint; fills holes and smooths cracks.
• Works at heights with no fear and may erect scaffolding or set up ladders.
• Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color per specifications.
• Applies paint to surfaces using spray gun, brush, or roller.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship not provided.
• Adheres to safety procedures and company policies.

Painter Blaster Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities

• Reads work order and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepares surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color, according to specifications using paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform task above ground level.
• Apply paint to surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.
