Job description

Painter Operator Trainee - Second Shift

Job Summary: Entry-level role focused on training and assisting operators. Emphasis on learning, preparing items for paint, operating, and maintaining paint shop equipment. Proper application and inspection of products are key elements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Operate lift devices (chain hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts).
  2. Wash, phosphate, and rinse items in preparation for paint.
  3. Prepare and blast cylinders and components using a cylinder blaster.
  4. Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on paint shop equipment and processes.
  5. Operate 2KS paint system and booth automation.
  6. Apply primer and paint for proper coverage and appearance.
  7. Visually inspect work for acceptance.
  8. Perform waste management processes to comply with health and safety requirements.
  9. Maintain records and perform system transactions as required.
  10. Must pass forklift certification within 30 days of hire.
  11. Adhere to safety practices and follow Fike and ISO 9001 policies.
  12. Perform related duties as assigned; maintain regular and consistent attendance.
Essential Skills:

Subject matter exposure, computer understanding, mechanical aptitude, housekeeping, teamwork.

Work Environment:

Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor conditions, moderate noise level. Physical activities include pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Must wear protective gear as needed.

Job Qualifications:

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent, ability to read instructions, work with hand tools, basic math, and computer skills.

PREFERRED: Experience with painting, manufacturing, or vo-tech training.

Additional Information:
