Job summary

Bender Companies is seeking a skilled Apartment Painter to join our Steger community. The ideal candidate performs interior painting, surface preparation, and ensures high-quality finishes in both occupied and vacant units, collaborating with the maintenance team.

This full-time on-site role offers daytime hours and a pay range of $19–$21 per hour. Candidates should have at least 1 year of professional painting experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, patching drywall, repairing damage, sanding and priming.
• Paint interior walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets in occupied and vacant units.
• Complete full unit repaints during turnovers (make-readies).
• Perform touch-ups in common areas and occupied apartments as needed.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes and company policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What We are Looking For:

Bender Companies is seeking a skilled and dedicated Apartment Painter to join our team at one of our apartment communities in Steger. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on professional who takes pride in their work and thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

To succeed in this role, you should have strong attention to detail, knowledge of proper surface preparation and painting techniques, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The right candidate will be self‑motivated, organized, and able to follow direction while also working independently when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19-$21 per hour

Schedule :

• 8AM to 4:30 PM (however hours may vary)
• Monday to Friday

As a Painter at Bender Companies, you will play a key role in maintaining the overall appearance and condition of the apartment community. You will be responsible for completing painting projects efficiently, safely, and to company standards.

In this role, you will work closely with the maintenance team to prepare apartment homes for new residents, complete touch‑ups, and enhance the overall aesthetic of the community.

Core responsibilities include:

• Paint interior walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets in occupied and vacant units
• Complete full unit repaints during turnovers (make‑readies)
• Perform touch‑ups in common areas and occupied apartments as needed
• Ensure all workcomplies withsafety standards, building codes, and company policies
• Performadditionalduties as assigned

Where you will work:

This position will require you to work on-site at the property in Steger.
