Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS is seeking a Painter – Skilled to join our coatings team. You will blast and paint ship structures to exact contract requirements, ensuring surface prep, coating thickness, and long-lasting protection for naval vessels.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ painting/blasting experience with marine coatings. Work stabilizes in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, with opportunities for overtime and long-term advancement.

What You Can Earn

What You’ll Do

• Perform blasting and painting using marine coatings to meet specified contract requirements.
• Understand and follow blasting and painting specifications, including blast profiles, millage requirements, and coating procedures.
• Prepare surfaces and apply coatings using spray equipment, rollers, or brushes as directed by supervision.
• Use blasting equipment, surface‑prep tools, and coating application tools safely and effectively.
• Support ship construction in diverse environments and be available to work any shift in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.

Must Have

Requires a minimum 3 or more years experience as a painter/blaster.

Nice to Have

• Must be able to perform all blast requirements and functions utilizing all applications.
• Identify and correct blast and paint deficiencies as required by the contract specifications. Testing will consist of the ability to hook up airlines to the manifold and spray horizontal, vertical and side to side.
• Able to sand blast and demonstrate how to utilize each part of the blast equipment.
