Job summary

DeKalb Health in Glendale Heights, IL is seeking a manufacturing painter to prepare and apply coatings to assembled products. You will set up spray equipment, mask surfaces, and ensure proper surface readiness for coating.

This is a full-time, non-exempt on-site role with growth potential in a fast-paced plant environment. Requirements include a High School Diploma and two years of painting experience in a manufacturing setting, plus HVLP spray application experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of painting experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Previous high volume, low pressure(HVLP) industrial spray application experience.
• Any additional essential skills and/or knowledge as shown in HRIS Career & Education > Skills section for incumbents holding this job title.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean assembled products for coating application.
• Apply masking tape or jigs to protect surfaces before wash.
• Maintain unit traceability; prepare surfaces for painting (automatic or manual wash).
• Utilize sprayer to apply paint to products according to company specifications.
• Mix standard paint colors and thinners to obtain proper viscosity; adjust as necessary.
• Maintain spray paint equipment in proper working condition; replace nozzles and gun components.
• Flush and clean paint system circulation and filtering lines and components.
• Replenish painting supply as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned

Work Conditions & Physical Environment:

Duties are performed in an industrial environment. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee must constantly lift, carry, move, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
