Qualifications

  • 1+ years of relevant painting experience preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and measurements.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures.
  • Experience handling spray equipment and related tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Apply masking tape and caps to protect parts not to be coated.
  • Apply epoxy and urethane coatings to achieve high-grade finishes.
  • Adjust spray gun valves to regulate width and pressure.
  • Operate spray equipment and direct spray onto surfaces.
  • Clean and maintain spray booths and equipment.
  • Suggest process improvements to supervisors.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions from leads and supervisors.
  • Work safely and inspect own work for quality compliance.

Job Overview

1st Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:00AM to 4:00PM

The Paint Operator prepares surfaces and applies epoxy and urethane wet paints to obtain high-grade finishes on parts or products.

A Day In The Life

Every Day At Hubbell Is Different And You’ll Contribute In Many Ways. On Any Given Day, You’ll Make a Difference By:

  • Applying masking tape and/or caps to protect parts and components that are not to be coated.
  • Applying wet coat surfaces of manufactured products with epoxy and urethane coatings.
  • Adjust valves on spray guns to regulate the width and pressure of spray.
  • Pull trigger and direct spray onto the work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
  • Properly cleaning and maintaining all spray equipment including booth maintenance.
  • Making suggestions to supervisors for improvements associated with assigned work.
  • Following instructions, both written and verbal, from the lead person and production supervisors.
  • Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Inspect your own work for conformity to standards.
