Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment LLC is seeking dedicated painters to maintain and refresh in-park facilities. This role involves performing general paint work, applying airless and conventional spray methods, and ensuring a safe environment for guests and staff.

Applicants should have at least one year of onsite painting experience, familiarity with HVLP spray guns, and the ability to work on scaffolding up to 24 ft. The position is full-time with year-round availability.

Qualifications

• Have at least one year of onsite painting experience or equivalent.
• Experience with chemical and hazardous waste handling.
• Ability to obtain a company driver’s license including high reach and forklift licenses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with scaffolding up to 24 ft.
• Able to pass respirator fit test.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Experience in fiberglass repairs, polyester bondo, and refinishing.

Responsibilities

• Perform general paint work for in-park painting services, ensuring safety for guests and employees.
• Apply various methods: airless spray, conventional spray, brush, and roller.
• Perform pressure washing; assemble/dismantle scaffolding.
• Organize daily workload and meet park operating guidelines without direct supervision.
• Select proper materials for jobs and maintain paint shop cleanliness.
• Adhere to safety policies and requirements and maintain reliable attendance.
• Assist with other duties as required.

What you get to do:

• Perform all functions of general paint work for in-park painting services while ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees
• Utilize application methods, airless spray, conventional spray equipment, brush and roller applications
• Perform pressure washing; assemble, dismantle scaffolding
• Perform tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park operational guidelines; organize and plan daily workload without direct supervision
• Select proper materials for jobs
• Maintain cleanliness in the paint shop and storage areas
• Dependable performance in terms of attendance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required

What It Takes To Succeed:

• Have at least one year of onsite experience or equivalent experience in the painting field
• Have experience working with chemical and hazardous waste
• Ability to obtain a company driver’s license including high reach and forklift licenses
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be comfortable building and working on scaffolding up to 24ft
• Be able to pass a respirator fit test
• Have basic mathematical skills
• Be comfortable working at heights up to 385ft
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Be able to climb and work off of ladders
• Have paint and body experience
• Have experience in fiberglass repairs, applying polyester bondo and refinishing
• Be familiar with Mach and Sata HVLP automotive spray guns
• Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines
• Be comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
• Be comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
• Ability to train on and properly use protective gear
• Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts

What Else Is Important:

• Valid state driver’s license preferred
• Base coat/clear coat and single stage preferred
• Experience in other maintenance fields preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

As a 365 day/year operation, full-time candidates are expected to provide flexible availability to support year-round operating needs. This may include, but is not limited to, working opening, mid-day and closing shifts during peak and non-peak seasons, as well as weekends and holidays.

Compensation : $19.00 per hour
