Job summary

SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment is seeking enthusiastic Ambassadors to join our in-park painting team. You’ll perform general paint work, selecting materials, applying techniques with airless and conventional spray equipment, and maintaining a safe, clean paint shop environment.

As a full-time role, you’ll work varying shifts at the park, have opportunities to learn fiberglass repairs, HVLP spray guns, and scaffolding work up to 24 ft, with a strong focus on safety, attendance, and dependable

Qualifications

• At least one year of onsite painting experience or equivalent.
• Experience with chemical and hazardous waste handling.
• Ability to obtain a company driver's license including high reach and forklift licenses.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working on scaffolding up to 24 ft and at heights.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general paint work for in-park painting services while ensuring guest and employee safety.
• Use application methods, airless spray, conventional spray, brush and roller techniques.
• Perform pressure washing and assemble/dismantle scaffolding.
• Plan daily workload and complete tasks within park operation timelines.
• Select proper materials and maintain cleanliness in paint shop and storage areas.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain dependable attendance.

What You Get To Do

• Perform all functions of general paint work for in-park painting services while ensuring a safe environment for guests and employees
• Utilize application methods, airless spray, conventional spray equipment, brush and roller applications
• Perform pressure washing; assemble, dismantle scaffolding
• Perform tasks assigned within time constraints implied by park operational guidelines; organize and plan daily workload without direct supervision
• Select proper materials for jobs
• Maintain cleanliness in the paint shop and storage areas
• Dependable performance in terms of attendance, acceptance of assignments, and strict adherence to all safety policies and requirements
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as required

What It Takes To Succeed

• Have at least one year of onsite experience or equivalent experience in the painting field
• Have experience working with chemical and hazardous waste
• Ability to obtain a company driver’s license including high reach and forklift licenses
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Be comfortable building and working on scaffolding up to 24ft
• Be able to pass a respirator fit test
• Have basic mathematical skills
• Be comfortable working at heights up to 385ft
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Be able to climb and work off of ladders
• Have paint and body experience
• Have experience in fiberglass repairs, applying polyester bondo and refinishing
• Be familiar with Mach and Sata HVLP automotive spray guns
• Ability to work under and meet tight deadlines
• Be comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
• Be comfortable working around fumes/dust/odor
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and temperature extremes
• Ability to train on and properly use protective gear
• Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours; i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts

What Else Is Important

• Valid state driver’s license preferred
• Base coat/clear coat and single stage preferred
• Experience in other maintenance fields preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

As a 365 day/year operation, full-time candidates are expected to provide flexible availability to support year-round operating needs. This may include, but is not limited to, working opening, mid-day and closing shifts during peak and non-peak seasons, as well as weekends and holidays.

Compensation

$19.00 per hour
