Freedom Plaza, a premier retirement community in Sun City Center, FL, seeks a Painter / Maintenance Tech for full-time work starting at $22/hour. You will handle painting, drywall repair, texture matching, and wallcovering to maintain high-traffic common areas and prepare apartments for new residents.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• 3–5 years painting/wallcovering in residential settings.
• Knowledge of commercial and residential painting/wallcovering.
• English reading, writing and communication ability.
• Willingness to handle emergencies related to the community.
• Doctor’s statement of freedom from communicable disease, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned painting/wallcovering as directed.
• Maintain aesthetics of high-traffic common areas.
• Restore painted areas in vacated units to like-new condition.
• Perform drywall repairs as needed.
• Complete work in priority order set by supervisor.
• Observe safety precautions for residents, staff and visitors.
• Maintain tools, equipment and supplies in good condition.
• Support creating a culture driving occupancy and revenue.

What You'll Do

• Perform assigned painting/wallcovering as directed.
• Maintain the esthetics of high traffic common areas (painting and wallcovering).
• Restore painted areas in vacated units to like-new conditions.
• Perform drywall repairs as needed.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Take all safety precautions concerning residents, staff and visitors (i.e. utilize ‘wet paint’ signs, safety cones, and caution tape).
• Maintain all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top‑line revenue and occupancy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Three to five years of painting/wallcovering experience in a residential setting
• Working knowledge of commercial and residential painting/wallcovering.
• Proficiency in the English language enabling the employee to read, write, comprehend and communicate simple instructions, correspondence, memos, etc.
• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community.
• Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease, if applicable in your state.
