Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces to be painted, including cleaning and sanding as needed.

• Remove old finishes and prep surfaces for interior or exterior painting.
• Apply coats of primer, paint, varnish, stain, enamel or lacquer.
• Assist with ordering paint materials and estimating paint quantities.
• Coordinate schedule with other project phases and maintain inventory of supplies.

Acts Construction is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Painter / Journeyman position.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine to complex surface preparation, selecting appropriate paint materials, and using various application techniques to achieve a high-quality finish. Removes old finishes and preps surface for interior and/or exterior painting. Applies coats of primer, paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, other structures, and/or equipment. Assists with ordering paint materials, estimating amount of paint needed, and coordinating schedule with other phases of work. Maintains inventory of supplies, including paint brushes, tarps, chemicals, etc.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of painting experience
• Construction or maintenance related experience is preferred
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license

Pay Range

$24.21 - $30.76 / hour. Starting rate will vary based on skills and experience.
