The University of Alabama seeks a skilled Painter II to perform journeyman-level work in preparing and finishing surfaces. You'll work Monday to Friday, maintaining high-quality standards in various painting tasks while potentially mentoring entry-level workers. This role requires a strong background in painting and valid driving credentials.
Pay Grade/Pay Range:Minimum: $19.33 - Midpoint: $24.18 (Hourly N5)

Normal Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
Job Summary:The Painter II performs skilled work at the journeyman level in preparation and staining or painting of interior and exterior surfaces. Hangs and finishes sheetrock. Hangs wallpaper. Interprets plans and makes estimates of required materials needed. May train and provide work leadership to entry level painters. Drives from site to site.
Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of painting experience. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
