Job summary

MARCUS HOTELS INC in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a dedicated painter to refresh interior and exterior finishes across the property. You will grab painting tools and apply fresh coats to maintain a welcoming environment for guests.

You must read and interpret safety instructions, work with hand and power tools, lift up to 50 lbs, and follow OSHA standards. The role runs Monday through Friday, 1st shift, with opportunities to contribute ideas for better methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Wood refinishing and painting experience required.
• CPR, OSHA 10, scaffold training certification required.
• Previous carpentry and painting experience required.
• Must read MSDS and safety manuals.
• Must communicate effectively with guests and associates.
• Must be able to work as an independent painter.
• Must analyze problems and implement solutions.
• Represent the company in a courteous manner.
• Must be ready for work in uniform and on time.
• Must use hand and power tools proficiently.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift and stretch.
• Must be flexible with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily shift reports.
• Document all calls in master computer log.
• Follow all OSHA standards.
• Maintain interior and exterior finishes.
• Respond to guest calls and associate requests.
• Assist in performing PM on FF&E.
• Assist in cost control: Heat, Power, Light, Sewer and Water.
• Repair, clean and maintain walls, ceilings, furniture and woodwork.
• Ensure standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance are maintained.
• Must be able to lift and transport 50# loads.
• Must be able to work with ladders and scaffolding.
• Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
• Make recommendations to improve methods and procedures for guest/associate satisfaction.
• Attend all required Engineering Department meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Monday - Friday (1st Shift)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. 1. Perform daily shift reports
2. 2. Document all calls in master computer log
3. 3. Follow all OSHA standards
4. 4. Maintain interior and exterior finishes
5. 5. Respond to guest calls and associate requests.
6. 6. Assist in performing PM on all FF&E

8. 8. Repair, clean, touchup and or maintain but not limited to the following:
   • a. All wall coverings and finishes
   • b. Ceiling finishes and textures
   • c. Furniture, cabinetry, doors and woodwork
   • d. Hvac air diffusers and grills
9. 9. Ensure appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance are maintained
10. 10. Must be able to lift and transport 50# loads
11. 11. Must be able to work with ladders & scaffolding
12. 12. Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum
13. 13. Make recommendations to his/her supervisor regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.
14. 14. Attend all required Engineering Department and other meetings.
15. 15. Perform other duties as assigned.
