We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Painter/Decorator to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) account in HMP Holme House, Holme House Road, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 2QU, this role is based on-site.
There will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends but this would be on a rota basis (and with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary).
At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
The Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:00; Friday 07:30 - 15:00; Saturday to Sunday 07:45 - 16:00.

You will be responsible for:
What makes this role unique is you will ensure all works are carried out to the highest safety standards, sometimes working alongside and supervising the work of prisoners. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
We want to hear from you if you have:
Ideally you will be qualified to NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating, however we will consider applications if you have NVQ level 2.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you are comfortable working alongside prisoners and experience in sharing best practice with others to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
