Job summary

Linamar Corporation is seeking a Painter Blaster I to blast and paint Salford agricultural parts and machinery. The role supports production, requires lifting frames, and adherence to quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of industrial painting experience, familiarity with wet paint techniques, and ability to work in a team while following safety procedures. Training and career opportunities are available within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Teamwork in a production line and safety training are essential.

Responsibilities

• Blast and paint Salford products and related machinery to quality standards.
• Train new employees on painting/blasting procedures and equipment.
• Ensure products leaving the paint line meet quality standards.
• Load and unload frames as required.
• Maintain detailed records (mil readings, paint usage, environmental readings).
• Follow OSHA and site safety procedures; maintain PPE and equipment.
• Take direction from supervisors for specific products or projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned by production supervisor.

The Painter Blaster I role is responsible for media blasting/painting parts and machinery for agricultural use.

Job Title

Performance Expectations

• Ability to blast and paint all Salford products including parts and various machines evenly as per Salford’s quality standards.
• Ability to train other/new employees on proper painting/blasting procedures, including equipment.
• Ensure quality standards are met with all products leaving the paint line.
• Ability to load and unload frames.
• Maintain detailed records pertaining to projects including; mil readings, paint consumption, and ambient environment readings.
• Follow all health and safety procedures as outlined in the hourly employee handbook and departmental safety procedures.
• Clean and maintain personal painting, ventilation, blast equipment and personal protective equipment.
• Take directions from assembly & paint supervisor as needed for specific products or projects.
• Other duties as assigned by production supervisor

Credentials

• A secondary or post-secondary education diploma or equivalent

Desired Characteristics

• A minimum of one to two years of industrial painting in a manufacturing setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of wet paint techniques and a basic understanding of painting equipment is considered an asset.
• Work as a member of a team in a production line and collaborate with one another to resolve quality problems as needed.
• Take safety courses required by OSHA including proper use of respirators and other safety equipment as needed.
• Ability to operate overhead crane/forklift and move large parts on monorail independently.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to lift to 50lbs with the assistance of a lifting device.
• Highly organized, proactive, can work independently without supervision.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
• Positive attitude that will be a good cultural fit is required.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment
