Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. seeks a skilled journeyman painter for on-site work across industrial facilities. You will prepare surfaces, spray paint, brush and roll, and ensure coatings meet specifications while maintaining safety standards.

Description

Must be able to prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting, and paint equipment, parts, machinery, buildings, and other working areas using a spray gun, brush, and rollers. Other duties may be assigned.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Reads work orders and receives instructions verbally.
• Prepare the surface using methods appropriate to remove dirt, oil, and grease, removing old paint, smoothing cracks, coating, and filling holes.
• Work at heights with no fear.
• May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain a smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color, according to specifications using a paddle or mechanical mixer.
• May erect scaffolding or set up a ladder to perform tasks above ground level.
• Apply paint to the surface using a spray gun, brush, and/or roller.
• Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to perform all job duties while maintaining a constant commitment to safety, quality, and productivity expectations.

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Experience– 4 years of Journeyman level experience.

Certification/License: NCCER and a Valid Driver’s License.
