Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a proactive floor painter to support our paint operations. You will apply coatings to assemblies and airplanes, follow masking and surface prep steps, and ensure work meets safety, quality, and schedule goals.

The role requires advanced knowledge of paint shop processes, ability to read instructions, and commitment to 5S and continuous improvement. You will perform inspections, assist teammates, and operate equipment such as forklifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Proactively perform painting tasks on the floor to meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost goals.
• Contribute to root cause corrective action and inspect/work to ensure first-pass quality.
• Prepare, spray, mask, and finish paint on assemblies and airplanes as required.
• Perform inspections and self-inspections, and verify work is ready for inspection or customer.
• Operate forklift or wing dolly as needed.
• Support 5S and continuous improvement activities.

What are your contributions to the team?

Be a proactive painter on the floor that has a vested interest and desire through continuous improvement to help the paint operations achieve site and company objectives in safety, quality, schedule, cost, and growth. Drive quality first time yield by being part of root cause corrective action process, performing inspection and/self-inspections and validate work is ready to be presented to inspection and/or customer. Employees must also be able to perform and display an advanced knowledge of various paint shop operations, during and following the spraying of assemblies or airplanes. Having and demonstrating an advanced knowledge of mask, clean, surface treat, sand, prepare, paint interior and exterior of details, assemblies, and airplanes for primary or finish paint operations. Steam clean and rinse various configurations as required. Apply protective or other specialty coatings as needed. Fill and fair, sand to bring surfaces to aerodynamic smoothness. Follow instructions/drawings to apply identification markings, insignia decals, or stencils. Perform miscellaneous tasks and deliver paint supplies as required. Operate forklift or wing dolly when necessary. Correct inspection discrepancies of the level of work performed. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Understand and ensure compliance with all program specifications. Assist painters in area when issues arise accomplishing various paint shop duties. Be able to problem-solve. Embrace 5S.
