Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a skilled journeyman painter to perform all phases of the painting trade across university buildings, facilities, and equipment. Responsibilities include patching, drywall repair, and light carpentry related to finished painting.

The ideal candidate has five years of direct painting experience, can mix paints, and operates airless and pressure-type equipment while interpreting blueprints.

Qualifications

DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, performs skilled journeyman level tasks in all phases of the painting trade in connection with the maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities and equipment or any university property. Includes patching, small drywall repair, minor carpentry repair associated with finished painting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Five (5) years directly related experience as a skilled journeyman in all painting phases.
• Mixes paints by prescribed formulations.
• Uses airless and pressure type equipment, brushes and rollers.
• Applies cement and tape to joints, installs wall and floor coverings.
• Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Must have a strong knowledge of and experience with tools, equipment and products of the trade.
• Must have knowledge of EPA codes and regulations as they pertain to the trade.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Construction/Painter experience in a large, complex healthcare system.
• Drywall finishing/taping experience.
• Some Carpentry knowledge.
• Infection Control experience.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $94,336 - $94,336 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $45.18 - $45.18
