Job summary

MiTek in Saint Charles, MO is seeking a skilled painter helper to support painting operations. You will read blueprints, set up fixtures, operate hand and power tools, and monitor finishes to ensure quality. Safety and accurate labeling of parts are essential.

The role welcomes candidates with a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience; training and benefits are provided under MiTek guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
• Read blue prints.
• Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to painting using fixtures and procedures.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to painting.
• Inspect work pieces for defects and measure for conformance.
• Monitor painting processes to achieve desired finish.
• Notify management of faulty equipment or materials.
• Determine equipment and painting methods per procedures and apply techniques.
• Mark material with job numbers and identifiers.
• Position and secure work-pieces using hoists or cranes.
• Improve appearance using sand blasting equipment.
• Package material and assist loading/unloading trucks.
• Perform other duties within or outside painting dept as needed.

Job Responsibilities & Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
• Ability to read blue prints.
• Lay out, position, align and secure parts prior to painting using prescribed fixtures and proper work procedures.
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the painting trade.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Monitor painting processes to assure desired finish is achieved.
• Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify the Foreman or management.
• Determine required equipment and painting methods via established work procedures and apply proper painting techniques.
• Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required.
• Position and secure work-pieces, using hoists, cranes etc.
• Improve appearance of materials using sand blasting equipment.
• Package material and help load and unload trucks as instructed.
• Any other job duties assigned within and outside of the painting department, as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
• Experience: One to two years related experience preferred, but not required.
